Info for Beginners:
You will get 3 attempts for Squat, Bench, and Deadlift, in this order. You get 1 minute from the time your name is called, to successfully complete the lift. If you miss your lift, you may still increase the next attempt if you feel up for it.

How do you choose your attempt numbers?
First attempt. Typically, "the opener", is something you can comfortably hit but is still a decent number to 'get you on the board'. This is something you could triple in training. 88-92% of your one rep max.

Second attempt. You should try to match your gym PR to set a 'meet PR'. It's hard, but you know you got it. 93-97% of your max.

Third Attempt. This is based on how the second attempt moved (speed, depth/pause, fatigue). The goal is to maximize your total and chase a new PR. 98-102% of your max.

Example (100 kg Max)

1st: 90 kg
2nd: 95 kg
3rd: 100–102.5 kg (based on how 95 kg felt)

You may study the rules for the lifts and process here. However, you do not need to obey the PL rules to compete as our main goal is to have fun.
